323 16th Ave E #204, Seattle 98112

Robin M. Tomazic of RE/Max is holding open her lovely new listing at La Flor on 16th Ave this weekend. If you love vintage chic living then you should take some time out of your day and check this chic condo home out.

Real Estate folk hate the word cozy when used in listing remarks. Everyone knows it is code for small. Well I’m sorry but I cannot think of a better word to describe how this place makes me feel. Walking into the living room made me feel like grabbing a blanket, my sweetie, a big cup of hot chocolate and curling up on the couch next to the fireplace. One of my favorite design features from buildings of this era is that they gave you breathing space to live. Definitely no cramped quarters here. The bedroom is a perfect size for a queen size bed and a few other well chosen pieces of furniture. The living room is spacious enough to entertain several friends for a cocktail hour or pre-funk before a night on the town. The leaded glass and warm mahogany trim surrounding the living spaces wrap around you to provide needed relief from the fast paced world outside our walls.GetMedia-7

Speaking of what’s outside, while you will enjoy the quiet of 16th ave you get to enjoy all of the joys of living in an urban neighborhood. My favorite place to grab a beautifully delicious dessert is right up the street at Bakery Nouveau. If you need to wet your whistle take your pick from theses unique spaces, The Canterbury, Smith, and Liberty are all different venues that can easily be the bar where everybody knows your name. When the time comes to fill you up with sustanince one of my favorite places is the Coastal Kitchen with its revolving world menu. But there are plenty of other foodie havens too; such as Kanek Cuisine of India, Olympia Pizza, and Sur 16. Plus don’t forget the local shops like Flowers on 15th, Remedy Teas and Rainbow Natural Remedies to enlighten your lifestyle.

What I like most about this condo:

1. Location- Located one block from 15th Avenue. You get the quiet street, but access to all the fun!

2. Cute Kitchen- Though it is not a huge chefs kitchen, it is perfect for preparing a meal for yourself or a small group for dinner

3. Original Details- Mahogany Wood trim , original callbox, and original hardwood floors are preserved beautifully.

4. Fireplace- Yea, its electric but we live in the modern era of forced air and air compressors. Wood fireplaces are so 1900’s. You get to enjoy the ambiance of a fireplace with putting those carcinogens into the air.

5. Art Deco Toilet Seat- It’s a random touch and the perfect fun throwback to the era of this building.

I don’t always put toilet seats in my blogs but when I do they’re stunning.

Year one with my first two rugby drag daughters.

I’ve had the honor and pleasure the last few years of being apart of a fundraising event that has become a highlight of my year. Tru Halliwell of the Seattle Quake Rugby Team is the mastermind behind this fabulous event. If you’ve been to Purr in the past few years and most recently Neighbours (where the event is held) then you must have crossed paths with Tru. He’s hysterical, straight to the point, a past Mr Gay Seattle and one of the best people in our community – you feel like family with Tru. ‘Rugby is a Drag’ takes a cast of players from their team with enough going on in their daily lives and throws them into rehearsals for this show featuring singular performances, groups of varying sizes and this year live singing hosted by the fabulous Gaysha Starr!

This year's cast of fabulous ladies!

This year’s cast of fabulous ladies!

But of course, even in this day and age, how many of these men have done drag? Know how to? That’s where myself and other “fairy drag mothers” if you will come in. There are a couple gents who know the craft well and have done it themselves, turning out some fabulous performances. Everyone gives 110%. Tru coordinates with myself and others from around the drag scene to come in and pick ourselves some drag babies. An array of queens with varying skill levels of drag meet a team of guys who may or may not have a clue what they’re doing and magic happens.

Over the years Ursula Major, Olivia LaGarce, Raye Sunshine, Diamond St James, Angel Snowbunny, LaSaveona Hunt, Kristie Champagne, Kara Sutra, Brooke Lynn Bradshaw, Glitter Bomb and Regine Dynasty just to name a handful, have all jumped onboard. We show up to a rehearsal, get matched up with our rugby players and discuss their vision, what they have and need supply wise along with any tips that we have ourselves. Come day of the show, we all pile into Neighbours hours before and get them into drag. Come showtime, its a packed house full of amazing energy and a crowd ready to cheer everyone on. After doing the show for two years ,the rugby team awards those queens with a gorgeous plaque awarding them ‘MVD: Quake Allstar Diva Award’.

What I’ve been so delighted with and love coming back to year after year is the camaraderie. Two communities who certainly can cross over in other ways coming together for a fundraising show and bonding. When you’re sitting in front of someone doing their makeup, you’re in each others space and learning about each other. These awesome rugby gents allow their faces to become canvases that we paint our styles onto, its pretty amazing to see your work on someone else and learn from it. This year was even more special some of us got to perform with our rugby drag babies.

There are a lot of fabulous events that happen in town but this is by far one of the most amazing and I highly suggest you check it out next year! Follow all of these fabulous performers and Quake Rugby on social media and check out their games and events, you won’t be sorry! But for now I leave you with the group number put together with my daughters Candi d’Ennui as Britney Spears and D’gnity as Ke$ha and myself as Nicki Minaj!

The gay high holiday is upon us ladies and gentlemen! Yes its HALLOWEEN! I’ve been seeing people all over town slowly becoming their alter egos in various costumes and its only going to get more and more noticeable! Luckily for all you 9-5er’s, the big night in question is on a Saturday so no need to fake a call into work or suffer thru whatever fatigue or hangover you might get yourself into. Here on the hill I’ve seen my fair share of Halloweens and I’m sure this one will be just as busy and spectacular as they all have been.

However, confession time, I will probably be..A – hanging out with friends watching some Halloween themed movies, B – down at Chez Diva joining in on their festivites or C – just doing my own thing at home. ‘WHY!?’ you must ask. I know its probably horrible to hear a drag queen say they’re just not getting all that into Halloween or going out. Just isn’t my bag, hasn’t really ever been.

Lets face it – ‘dressing up for Halloween’ happens 1-5 times a week depending on how many gigs I have. Halloween is a go big or go home kinda deal for the drag species and frankly I got bills to pay and enough drag already. Yeah I had a pretty spectacular ‘Bitch Puddin’ made last year, but that’s all folks!

Now onto the real reason why I’m here – I picked some parties for ya’ll! Things I think you should go to and have a ball – or see some, ya’ll and your skimpy costumes. Maybe win some money for your costume if you did spend time and talent making it. Or to just go enjoy some super awesome queer events do your Halloween right. Or your money back (disclaimer: you paid me nothing so you don’t get any money back – SORRY BOUT IT!)

Spookhaus 3: SPOOK there it is

Don't they look...sweet?

Don’t they look…sweet?

The Northwest Film Forum cooked up not one, not two, BUT THREE nights of fun! However as you read this – the first night already happened. You can still get your tickets (or as their FB event says, “if there are any left” and go see them for one of the 5 more showings or whatever it is they’re doing tonight and tomorrow.

A Night of Fear, Mayhem, and Debauchery, 21+ only. Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 at door.

PRETTY MUCH GUARANTEED  to be the best Haunted House and Halloween Bonanza this side of the Cascadian Subduction Zone.

Show up, get some liquid courage, and conquer your fears.
There will be clowns.
There will be killer karaoke.
There will be the impossible standards of your parents.
Buy a ticket.
Party like death is inevitable.

Keep the clowns happy, get yer tickets now: bit.ly/spookhaus3

Uh oh – did you read that.. GUARANTEED. Let me know how it goes and mayhaps if it isn’t the best you can get your money back? Do you really wanna be that kind of putz?

You could almost do the next three easily enough and just party hop around town. I’ll even give em to you in some kind of chronological order, look at the good I do!

keebler

This is what the Haunted Mansion would look like staffed by Haus of Keebler.

HalloKween : Hosted By Haus of Keebler

From the makers of ‘ArtHaus Season 2‘ comes the tastiest drag haus, the Haus of Keebler! They’re going  to be hosting down at Kremwerk for what I’m sure will be an amazing evening of spooky fun. Have you not been to Kremwerk yet!? GO! It’s amazing – plus if there is an event also going on at Rebar that you want to hit you can do both in the same night with little walking! All that fun on one block!

There will be SPOOOOOOPY performances by some of your favorite Seattle drag queens!

There will be CREPPPPPPY music to dance to a twirl and shriek to!

There will be an EEEEERIE costume contest where the winner will walk away with a $30 bar tab and hand picked prize from the Haus!

Cover: $5 with costume, $7 without costume – 21+

DBL DICKSLAP HALLOWEEN 10/31 SEATTLE EAGLE

Dead, dead, dead, DEAD!

Dead, dead, dead, DEAD!

If the Keebler’s poster wasn’t amazing enough. Get a load of what party master DJ Nark and his team came up with. As an avid fan of ‘Murder She Wrote‘ and to quote practically anyone nowadays, ‘#DEAD’. If I could shablam in this blog over this poster I would. Dickslap is always a great time and has really turned The Eagle on its head. This or any party of theirs is a MUST go. Throw in Amoania as your hostess for the evening and all is set. Party like there’s no tomorrow in this Halloween helliverse.

It’s a 90’s (w)horror double feature in your best Angela Lansbury MURDER SHE TEXTED drag or your brightest chunky vinyl / business woman-zombie suit for ROMY AND MICHELE’S HORROR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION, or just whatever outfit you’ve been planning all year, but with that many JB Fletcher’s around there’s sure to be a MURDERRRR

Special guest DJs Bright Light Bright Light, Chris Camplin along with Nark will make for quite the night of dancing. Ross Milam from Scruff will be there in some capacity. From the looks of the invite whatever that “capacity” is will be glorious. Don’t forget to stroll by or look up at the cage in the main room to see Pup Amp and friends dancing in what little Halloween costumes they have devised. Also – look into Pup Amp‘s eyes if you can, good lord they’re gorgeous!

21+ … can’t find the cover, but I don’t think it’s gonna be expensive.

HALLOWEEN THRILLER at 500 EAST

A Halloween CLASSIC!

A Halloween CLASSIC!

Sending some love to my home bar where I do my weekly ‘DONNATELLA VS HUMANITY‘ night. The gang of 500 East along with DJ Shan-tha-don are putting the Thriller in Halloween! Happy hour from 10- close and they have so much on tap, you’re gonna be set!

As bars are want to do – there will be a costume contest. I’m sure there will be bar hopping just for the timing of said contests to see how many times your costumes will sweep the wins. Prepare yourselves accordingly! First prize is $50, second is $25 and third is $10.

21+ and NO COVER!

Got it all? Check out all of their pages. Have fun and be safe! Happy Halloween!

“Labor Gay”, what I instantaneously came up with when Diva Chavi said, ‘hey gal, how about a blog about things to do for the Labor Day weekend?’ It flew out of my mouth faster than shade at a rival queen on a Saturday night at Purr. Labor Day weekend is coming faster than you know it and I’ve found some events that I think you should check out of if you don’t have plans. Or need back up plans. Or just aren’t following social media to see that there are some awesome events happening!

But first, let’s ease on into this Labor Day weekend post with some traditional favorites. Its been a fairly glorious summer, even with the slight water concerns (did you conserve your 10%?) and hotter than normal temperatures. Yeah, its been a new kind of summer for us here in Seattle, but honestly, I’ve seen more of ya’ll posting from the nude beaches, Madison Beach, off the sides of boats and walking about Capitol Hill in all variation of scantily clad so quit your kvetching!

Beaches and Boating! I have missed out on both to be honest, I’ve been a little busy. Tho not this Busy, she’s always the busiest. You can hit Madison Beach, Golden Gardens or Alki Beach just to name a few to carve out a spot for the day to soak up sun and enjoy the local fare. Not to mention some of the places to lay out in the buff if that’s your jam. Denny-Blaine park and Howell Beach come up a lot in my social feeds and there is an oasis in the Arboretum where you can lay out as the powers that be intended!  Or maybe you have the lucky contact of knowing someone with a boat who’s practically parked each and everyday out in Gay Bay (Andrews Bay) on Lake Washington. These are probably the best options for having a nice, relaxing holiday weekend spending the least amount of money.

BBQs! Potentially an additional option once you’ve soaked up enough lazy time out on or by the water. Whether you or your friends rent or own in Seattle, its not uncommon to have roof access and amenities to party with some gorgeous views. I can’t even recall the total number of places I’ve been to for an event that were set on a rooftop looking out over our gorgeous city. This too can be done on the cheap, especially with awesome friends who like to cook as well! Spend the end of summer above the city with good food, great friends and whatever else you might like.

Now onto some events! Some local and a couple abroad, it is a holiday weekend after all. I’ll be spending my holiday up in Anchorage for the third Labor Day weekend in a row, it’ll be fun and gorgeous but I digress..

Staycation in Seattle! You’ve beached, boated and BBQ’d or are or will. I’ve got some drag, burlesque and a dance party you can throw into the mix and guess what. THEY’RE ALL ON DIFFERENT NIGHTS. In fact if you wanted to you could hit each of these and have your Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings all set with a different event. I highly recommend it!

ArtHaus - LBD

Saturday 9/5: ARTHAUS 2.0! Last year, the masterminds from Maison de la Bête came up with ArtHaus to showcase the various drag hauses in Seattle, pitting them against one another in areas such as look and performance leading up to the crowning of one winner. The first season ended with Waffle Haus and Haus of Tree going head to head for the win – until they shocked everyone and became Haus of Keebler and took the crown together! The Keebler’s have taken on season two and are ready to make magic happen once again! Join them at Kremwerk, the theme of the evening is ‘PARTY!’ and the Hauses of Paradisco, 10 and 6 and the Markos compete for round one. The only group I’m not well versed in is 10 & 6 but I’m sure all three are going to bring their best and having watched the Keeblers slowly roll out their photo shoot for this season’s antics its been like watching promos for a twisted, glamorous Sex and The City ad campaign. They will also be featuring photo works from Leanna Karg & Bob Knoxious as well as visual artist Katie Wright with pieces that will be for sale!

Bottom Forty

Sunday 9/6: Bottom Forty BOAT PARTY! Kevin Kauer aka DJ Nark has given new life to The Eagle with his bevy of events ranging from make out parties to competing queens to a gaymers dream come true and so on.

“Bottom Forty is a queer powered, dance-centric, multi-media art project and sensory enhancing party for everyone brought to you by Nark, Riff-Raff, Pavone, Hyasynth and Spaceotter, Bottom Forty is a mirror ball in New York, a basement in Chicago, a cruise in L.A. and a night in the desert.”

He’s been conquering the waterways of Lake Union and Washington with the Islander Yacht taking guests out for party cruises with all the fixings and this one looks like its going to be dark and sexy instead of stormy!

Revelry - LBD

Monday 9/7: RevelryIf you’ve kept up with our blog, you’ve seen my previous blog mentioning Revelry. Seattle’s only Monday night burlesque revue featuring fresh faces and local established talent of our oh so sparkly burlesque community. These fab folks shimmy and shake for you at the Naked City Brewery and Taphouse and this coming show looks like one you won’t want to miss! Brews and burlesque, you can look forward to being entertained by Chesty LaRue, Ruby Rounds, Sabina Soubrette, Trixie Paprika and emceed by Team Diva favorite Al Lykya from this year’s Divas Take the Hill! They have two different ticket levels based on the seating you’d like to enjoy. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, if you’ve not gotten out to enjoy our burlesque scene, YOU MUST AND YOU’RE MISSING OUT!

Getting the heck outta Dodge!  I managed to come across two Labor Day weekend events that should be fun to hit up if you’re wanting to leave town. Who doesn’t love a little exploration and adventure!? It is a holiday weekend afterall..

Saturday 9/5: Divas of the LoungeTake a trip out to the Hi-Fidelity Lounge in Bremerton. I know what you might be thinking, Bremerton. Listen, this isn’t your big city drag show. Have you been out to Cucci Binaca’s monthly out there!? Guaranteed to be crazy fun, with some fairly colorful locals who just love their drag. Co-hosted by my old ‘Lashes’ castmate Tory Marchella, you’ll see some of their local talent and talent from abroad. Joining them from Seattle for this show is another Team Diva favorite Deja Nouveau, the fierce Brooke Lynn Bradshaw, her daughter Londyn Bradshaw and the fabulous Lucy Paradisco! Plus its only $5, free if you’re active duty military!

playhouse bc

Sunday 9/6: Playhouse! If Bremerton isn’t your jam, how about Victoria, BC!? Gouda Gabor and friends present this themed night at DejaVous Nightclub and this isn’t your childhood Barbies vs GI Joes playtime! Get yourself over on the Victoria Clipper for a two day one night stay right here from Seattle! Drag queen performances, hot Men of Ruff and DJ Del Stamp! However much time you plan, check out these other sights and activities that are a must in Victoria!

Woo! No matter what you plan for your Labor Day weekend, you surely will have a blast! Keep it local, do some travel, you can’t go wrong. Keep supporting all of the amazing artists we have here in the Pacific Northwest, they do what they do because they love doing it for you! Stay safe and have an amazing Labor Day weekend everyone!

Capitol Hill Home Of The Week Is: 10th Avenue E Townhouse

930 10th Ave E #A, Seattle 98102, Priced at $595,000

We have found a prize townhouse this week, right on the edge of Capitol Hill! Located just north of Broadway on 10th Ave E. Franz Diessner and Joe Overland of Coldwell Banker Bain have presented us with a perfect option for living near all the fun stuff we can’t get enough of on The Hill.

GetMedia-1.ashx

I love it when a home has a good balance of functionality, comfortability and style. So often we are forced to sacrifice one for the other. The layout of this townhouse brings it a high level of livability, and it being an end unit means it has just one set of shared walls. This three bedroom townhouse is just shy of 1400 square feet and lives even more comfortably than you would imagine.  The kitchen is the perfect size for two people to harmoniously prepare gourmet meals together. The timeless design of the cabinets are complemented by stainless steel appliances to keep this kitchen in style for years to come. I also appreciate the versatility of the living and dining room areas. Together they can easily accommodate a large cocktail party or an intimate evening around the fireplace with close friends. The two bedrooms on the second floor share their own full bathroom and either of them can shift to a home office if that is what fits your needs. But you will truly feel like the king or queen of the castle as you head up to the Top Floor Master Suite!  Vaulted ceilings and skylights let the light flow in to help make this room your own private sanctuary.

GetMedia-3.ashx

As if the townhouse itself was not fantastic enough, its location is equally amazing. Head to the north and you can kick back and immerse yourself in the parks, museum, and greenhouse that Volunteer Park has to offer. Or you can mosey on down south a bit to all of the goodness that Broadway has to offer. You have amazing restaurants like Poppy, Herb and Bitter and The De Luxe. Treat yourself to some shopping at Capitol Hill favorites UnderU4Men, Crossroads, and American Apparel.  Of course this being Seattle you have no less than three coffee shops within blocks of your doorstep. Take your pick; Joe Bar, Roy Street Coffee and Tea and Vivace. Being so close to Broadway your choices are endless.

What I love About This Townhouse

1. Peace And Quiet ~ This Is An Off Street Unit So The Road Noise Is Cut To A Minimum.

2. Private Patio~ Grill  All Year Round!

3. Walkability ~ Walkscore 86! Dinner, Drinks, And Fun Are Just A Short Walk Away

4. Off-Street Parking~ Spacious Garage For Vehicle Or Storage

5. Finishes~ Granite Counters, Hardwood Floors, Gas Fireplace, And More

We all know that this townhouse is not going to last very long, so you better run, not walk to me so we can get you in for a showing. Click my face below for my contact information and we set up an appointment.

This week another classic Capitol Hill treasure has hit the market. This time it is presented by my office pal, Leslie Dickinson of Coldwell Banker Bain. She has just listed the cutest one bedroom unit located in the highly sought after Garden Court. Situated at 1631 16th Ave, this building is a private little oasis in the middle of the city.

GetMedia-2.ashx

One of my favorite things about this building is that it was constructed during a time when people believed in a balance of beauty and open space. The lush courtyard with its beautiful fountain makes you feel as if you are living on a lavish estate. Unit 220 is equally as lovely on the inside as the building is on the outside. The stunning wood trim lining the ceilings and windows has been well cared for and maintained over the years. The kitchen and bath have been updated with modern finishes and stainless steel appliances. High ceilings throughout give the space give it an open feeling and let light permeate throughout the unit.

GetMedia-3.ashx

As far as the location goes this is perfect for someone looking for something off the beaten path. It’s one block off of the 15th ave, so you get the benefit of having access shops, restaurants and businesses. Two of the areas favorite grocery stores Central Coop and Traders Joes are just few blocks away.

trace canvaWho Doesn’t Love A Loft? Well the Trace Lofts are waiting for you. The industrial feel and sheik design of The Trace Lofts make it one of those buildings that stay on the radar of most prospective Capitol Hill Buyers.

I know I have featured the Trace Lofts in the past but I can’t help showing off units in this stunning building as soon as I see them hit the market. This Capitol Hill pick of the week is brought to us by Diva pal, Blair Stacks of Coldwell Banker Bain. Located at 1408 12th Ave, Seattle WA. The building sits right at the corner of 12th and Madison and this lovely unit is ready for a tasteful buyer with class and style to snag it up.

Be creative with your living space!

Be creative with your living space!

Unit 211 is a can’t miss opportunity for a first time homebuyer looking to pay a small premium for the luxurious upgrades that you won’t find in your standard, entry level priced Capitol Hill condo. Sexy steel and exposed wooden beams accentuate the modern finishes of the cabinets and stainless appliances. The south facing wall is framed with exposed brick reminding you that this is not some new modern box, but refurbished art that is part of Seattle History.

The location of this building is hard to beat as The Trace Lofts are in a prime location to take advantage of all of the culture, food, and of course fun that Capitol Hill has to offer. Just a short little walk down the lane is The 12th Avenue Arts building which boasts two theaters featuring national and local talent in film and live production. It is also home to Three Dollar Bill Cinema, who provide access to GLBTQ Cinema from around the world. Across the street is Velocity Dance Center which not only offers live performance but has several classes that allow you to personally experience different types of dance. When you start to get those pangs of hunger in your stomach, many of my favorite Capitol Hill restaurants are within mere blocks of your front door. You want Mexican? Head down to Barrio. A trip to Italy on your mind?, La Spiga is across the street waiting to fill your pasta dreams.  Japan is not too far either, Momiji is serving sushi and divine Japanese cuisine. We all know I love a good cocktail, and one of my favorite spirit houses is just downstairs. Check into Needle and Thread and have a personalized cocktail made catered to your dreams. You also have the fortune of being near Cannon. This whiskey and bitters emporium just north of Trace Lofts was ranked one of the best bars in the world by Esquire magazine. And for extraordinary wine tasting and tasty appetizers Poco Wine & Spirits will always have a special place in my heart, it’s located just around the corner.

My Favorite Things:

1. Stylish Building Aesthetic~ You Can Be Proud Of Where You Live

2. Strong HOA~Well Managed Buildings Are Rarer Than You Would Think

3. WalkScore 98- Ditch The Car And Rent Out Your Parking Space

4. Investors/Flexibility- No Rental Cap

5. Fabulous Rooftop Deck: Entertain~Relax~Retreat

$369,950 is practically a steal for this type of property in this central location, so it is definitely not going to last long.  If you are interested in this unit or anything else on the hill give me a call and I will be happy to schedule some time to show you.

Its been gorgeous. Its been a party. Its been HOT this summer. I know I surely asked the powers that be to make it rain less (or at least while I was commuting) during the winter. Looking back, I shouldn’t have put that out into the universe. Luckily we haven’t had too many water concerns until now. As of this week, it has become necessary for us to plan ahead just like the folks at Seattle Public Utilities did this past winter when they set us up with extra water reserves. Because, ENDLESS SUMMER seems to be here!

We only need to conserve 10% of our water usage per person, you know that’s almost kid’s stuff.

Remember back in the days of elementary school when conservation, recycling and such as became big curriculum? Of course you’d have to have been a kid of the 80s/early 90s for that to be a thing – its commonplace today. Back when Captain Planet was new and showing kids weekly how to take care of Mother Earth, the ultimate throwback.

Here are some ideas on how we can save water around here on the hill. Some of us here in Divaland have been kicking them back and forth seeing what works, tweaking what doesn’t and having a good time thinking up some creative new ways to save water.

Because of course a drag queen would come up with some entertaining ways to save water amirite?

  • Save A Server – They Don’t Need to Be At Your Beck and Call for Water You Will Never Drink! – its there, its free, but why not say ‘no thank you’? Especially if you’re going to be ordering something else to sip during your meal. Besides its a twofer, you’re saving water AND you won’t have your server hovering to refill your glasses every 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. I’ve literally been in that situation where the server must not have enough to do that they constantly were popping by to refill my water glass. Mere sips were taken and BAM… full again.
  • Ice Just Dilutes the Booze – Ice somewhat compounds with the water glass, but this one goes way back to my childhood. If your drink comes with ice, you’re paying for ice and whatever fills in the gaps to quench your thirst. Less ice, more drink, save water and get your money’s worth!
  • Shower Less – first off, ya’ll know that we got duped way back when into showering every day, right? Yes, I do love a nice shower, but its better to take care of what you need when you need it and do a full on shower every couple days. Your skin will thank you. Believe me, I can take up to two showers around a gig and sometimes I cut corners due to running behind – wash cloth wipe down and a sink shave!
  • Shower with a Buddy – ALSO. As they say (whoever “they” are) ‘use the buddy system!’ Shower with a buddy, your spouse, your lover, that person you met off whatever app or craigslist. If its gonna happen, might as well have fun with it! I myself have a dual headed shower in my Diva Dwelling *hint hint*.
  • Nature Calls – the old adage of ‘If its yellow, let it mellow. If its brown, flush it down.’ doesn’t just have to apply to times like this. HOWEVER. I was shown this when it first came out back in 2009 and clearly Brazil was getting ahead of the curve in promoting saving water by peeing in the shower. That’s right folks! Peeing in the shower, I’m not judging but lets go to the tape so you can enjoy this gem yourself…

Pee During Shower (english subtitles) from Fernandosanches.net on Vimeo.

Hysterically on point, Brazil made the perfect message to promote a way of helping save water. There are a multitude of ways we can work together and ourselves to conserve water in this time of self management. Luckily we are not in a more dire situation, all thanks to the folks at Seattle Public Utilities  so lets do our part and save that 10% of water they need of us and party on!

The Ambassador is a first time homebuyers dream! Unit 505 at  E Denny Way was just listed by Jessica Livingston of Remax on the Lake for $260,000. All of us Capitol Hill dwellers know at this price this condo unit is an absolute steal. Most renters on Capitol Hill would be paying less than their current rent to own in a well run, impeccable building. Located near some of our Capitol Hill favorite hot spots such as the Starbucks on Olive for caffeination and first dates and Glo’s Cafe for those late night eats. Plus you will be close to all of the fun local businesses on Olive such as The Hillside Bar, Montana, Crumble and Flake, and the hills favorite gay dive bar The Crescent. And for those urbanites that aren’t walkers this unit comes with its own coveted Capitol Hill parking space.

This beautiful condo, located on the quiet side of the building,

The Ambassador is a Capitol Hill Classic. Built in 1923 it has been meticulously cared for over its ninety years and it its elegance and beauty shine through today. Many people on The Hill would kill to live in a building that is in such great shape. I don’t think you could go wrong buying a unit in this building.

Granite countertops and stainless steel appliances adorn the ope

My Favorite things about this unit:

1. Location, Location,Location~ 96 Walk Score, Blocks From The New Light Rail Station, And Streetcar!

2. First Time Homebuyers Dream

3. Classic Capitol Hill Building With Classy design

4. 96 Walk Score
5. Investor Opportunity~ No Rental Cap

6. Off Street Parking!
